A wide variety of sports and activates attract visitors to the bayside of the island.  Fishing is the lure for many who angle for game fish like flounder, weakfish, and bluefish, sea bass, kingfish, tog, striped bass, or tuna to name a few.  Cast your line from a fishing pier, dock or bayside pavilion.

For those who appreciate a quiet encounter with nature, kayak or Sunfish sailboat rentals are available.  Skim over the waters of the great egg Harbor Bay with only the sound of waves against the hull and the cries of gulls for company to experience deep relation and serenity.  Or train your binoculars on the numerous docks, birds and waterfowl that inhabit it the pristine Back Bay ecosystem.  During the spring and fall migrations, thousands of bird’s species as well as seemingly fragile Monarch Butterflies thrill nature enthusiasts as they wing their way over the island.
